Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in labeling, formulating, and dispensing medications. The Pharmacy Technician program offered at Elite Career College has been accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ASHP/ACPE). The course focuses largely on the essential skills and knowledge required to qualify as a pharmacy technician, taught over 520 credit hours. Upon successful completion of the course, the candidate may apply for national certification offered by PCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board). Moreover, we offer learners externship partnerships in local pharmacies.
The Medical Assistant with Clinical Externship program features 483 hours of online training and 100 hours of clinical externship hands on training totaling 583 hours combined.
Medical assistants play a critical role in general patient care within healthcare facilities. With the expansion of medical practices in the healthcare industry, more medical assistants are required to perform clinical and administrative tasks such as obtaining patient vital signs, administer oral and parenteral medication, perform wound care, assist procedures alongside physicians, label and process specimens, manage medical records, process health insurance and prepare, perform and monitor EKG. Upon completion of the program, you’ll receive an exam voucher that can be utilized to attempt the industry certification exams for Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and Certified EKG Technician (CET) that are offered by the National Health career Association (NHA).
The program is offered online with around-the-clock availability of materials and resources for students to progress through the curriculum as per their desired schedule. The Medical Coding and Billing program includes 390 hours of curriculum that has been designed by experts as follows:
1.Foundation: Introduction to the health information management process, computer fundamentals, and reimbursement methodologies to better understand how medical coding is applicable within healthcare.
2.Biomedical Sciences: Understanding anatomy, medical terminology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology to correctly assign codes.
3.Code Training: Learning the different code sets using the 3M coding software — a tool utilized by several coders in the industry. Moreover, practicing coding on actual medical reports and records provider by employer partners.
Our medical coding and billing program prepares you for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) certifications. Your training includes a free voucher to take the exam of your choice.
